how can i help a friend?

what can be done to help my friend get through this sad and hirrible time. i really weant to be there but not sure what best to do?

you can do practical things

bring dinner round so they don't have to worry about it

am a little far away for dinner but will see if i can at weekend.

Give her space and time - the last thing she will want at the moment is to be bombarded with well meaning visitors!

I didn't want to face anyone for a while or talk to anyone. Just wanted to be left alone to cry it all out so I could face people without breaking down.
