Two MC's in 8weeks....have so many questions.

I had a MC at 6wks on the 8th March, today I've been told I'm miscarrying again at approx 6 wks. I didn't have a period inbetween the two pregnancies...I'm going crazy, why did I fall pregnant again so quickly, I didn't even know it was possible without having a period inbetween...all those horrible emotions all over again just when I'd got over them. I feel sick. Please can someone explain what a chemical pregnancy is?

I had a mmc in sept of last year and must have gotten pregnant straight away without realising it. i didn't have a clue until i mc again and had some of the tissue tested. i was probably only about 6 wks aswell.
all i can say is that it does get better with time.
not sure what a chemical prg is but im sure there will be someone along soon who knows much more than me.

Hi Kitty, I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you. I'm going to try to answer some of your questions...

A chemical pregnancy is where the egg is fertilised but the embryo doesn't implant properly. So you might get a BFP on a pregnancy test but it doesn't last and often women who experience a CP will start to bleed a few days after their period was due. It is (sadly) pretty common and doctors seem to think it is often just one of those things.

You can get pregnant without having a period after a miscarriage. This is because after a miscarriage when your body has realised it is not pregnant anymore your cycle starts up again and you ovulate and therefore can get pregnant. If the egg is not fertilised your period will follow, usually within a couple of weeks.

well..sorry if tmi but i was experiancing a lot of period like pain but no bleeding, hadnt had a real period since 1st mc, pain got so bad could hardly stand. made it to the loo to find i had passed some tissue type stuff(sory dnt know hw better to describe) but no blood. just a small grey mass. was very concerned so made an emergency appt to see gp and took the loss with me. the bleeding started after the loss. the gp hadn't ever seen anything like it and tbh i think she was a bit disgusted that i had brought it along! any way she sent it for testing and i got the results 2 weeks later saying it was definately a product of conception. i sort of knew anyway because the pain was so similar to my 1st mc. i have since has another mmc at the begining of march. so waiting for some tests to be done soon.

The consultant today said I had a "lovely" womb shape" and that I responded to the pregnancy really well. I could see the fetus on the screen but I could also see that there wasn't a heartbeat. None of it makes sense, aparently my uterus can't tell when its implanting a defected embryo... so how many times will this happen to me... I feel like I'm turing into a cold hearted person because I don't want to cry anymore. I'm dreading the actual release of the pregnancy sack, the last time it came out on a tissue on my hand - i had to just flush it away - it was like a nightmare.

oh kitty i wish i could answer your questions! If the consultant has said that about your uterus could he not give you any advise on what to do next time.
my only suggestion would be to talk to your g.p. see if they could maybe refer you for testing. i no it is generally after 3 mc bu you dont get if you dont ask.
with regard to the crying you should just do whatever you feel is best. if you want to cry do it but dont bottle it up because you feel you have to. with my 1st mc i gave myself 1 day to cry then told myself to get on with things and that was fine. when i had the 3rd i thought i would feel the same but i am still struggling to cope now and have very bad days. trying to keep it to myself has just made things worse.
please look after yourself and just do whatever you feel is best.

i am currently bleeding following MC number 4 that happened tuesday/wednesday. i too have had (this time last year) 2 MC in 8 weeks i totally understand how you describe your feelings to be this 4th MC feels like a kick in the guts and i am now more angry than anything else
my last 3 MC were what you might describe as a chemical preg. this means that the pregnancy is detected but lost before it is visible to a scan. FWIW if you are 6 weeks and have had a scan confirming you are pregnant then i wouldnt class this as a CP. also are you being rescanned to make sure?? it is possible that the heartbeat wasnt seen as it is just slightly too early.

my daughter miscarried 2nd time yesterday.i want to know because im rhesus neg could she be an this is why she might be miscarrying as i ad 2 miscarriages and needed anti d we dnt know her blood group or her b/f but we do need to find out any suggestions please

Rhesus negative does not cause a mc. But if she is rhesus negative, she should have been given the anti D injection after her first miscarriage. This ensures that there are no problems with different blood types in future pregnancies. Did they not give her a blood test to check if she doesn't know her blood group? I'm rhesus negative, and DH is positive, so I had to have the anti-d injection when I had a mc.

When I had a MC at 10 weeks in December, I was told that I didn't need an Anti-d injection if the miscarriage was before 12weeks.
