Miscarriaging first child after trying so long

On Valentines day I miscarriage. I was 10 and half weeks at this stage in the dates but doctors think was earlier. Had a complete miscarriage and went to hospital over a week later and there was no baby hormone. I have mild pcos and was on clomid but wasn't the time conceived was waiting to start new batch. When can I start again. nearly a month now since miscarriage, are you more fertile when you miscarry.x

I'm so very sorry, I would say start again whenever you feel ready to. They say wait until after your next period but as I understand it that is mainly for dating the pregnancy. As to whether you are more fertile or not I don't know, I wasn't but it may vary.

Thanks Claire, it is hard to go through having all what you want then your dreams shathered. has anyone sucess stories on concieving with pcos and having a healthy baby.

nikki - i have a 17yr old dd conceived on clomid.I have pcos and was on a very high dose of clomid.I know how hard it is yearning for a baby.
We had a hard time having a 2nd child and gave up but 11 yrs after dd was born I conceived naturally-much to our delight and shock!
So sorry about your miscarriage ,have you tried the pcos websites,there are some helpful forums on there.

Thanks ggirl, It's god to know that there is people out there who has gone through this. it's hard to talk to your partner when he doesn't know much even though he took it bad as his ex had an abortion and this was like him losing a second baby. I'm ready to try again but I don't know should I start the new dose of clomid 50mg as not back to doctor again to end of april.

I have PCOS and finally got pregnant after 1.5 years of trying with ExH and another year of trying with new partner. Miscarried at 7 weeks. Then got pregnant again 3 months later. Am nearly 17 weeks now and so far everything is ok (well except for me, horrible sickness and SPD!).

So there's definitely hope. You can start trying again when you feel ready. Sometimes they say to wait until you've had at least one period, will make it easier to date your pregnancy if you get pregnant right away.

Hi nikki, so sorry for your loss. I've been there: miscarried after many years of trying to get pg. It really is the pits, so all sympathies to you.

There's no good reason for not going ahead ttc just as soon as you feel physically and emotionally ready for it. People do say you're more fertile after a miscarriage but I don't know of any clinical evidence to back that up. Anecdotally, it has been true for some of my friends, all of whom were older women on their first pregnancy: it's almost as though your body can't quite pull it together first time, but gets kind of primed by the first pregnancy in order to be able to make the second one successfully. That's how it felt to me, anyway: I conceived within a few weeks of miscarrying, and went on to have a successful, healthy pregnancy.

pcos covers lots of different symptoms I found metformin helpful in regulating my system and led to ds1

I mc 5 wks on 1st month of clomid but carried on straight away and got caught on 6th month of it.Now have 15mth ds

I have PCOS too. We tried for a year before I got pregnant but sadly miscarried. We carried on trying for another 3 years until we finally managed to have DD. DD is now 3.5 years.

We have been trying for another one since she was six weeks old. I have managed to conceive twice in that time but the first one was ectopic and the second another miscarriage. I have a strong feeling though that we will manage to have a second it will just take some time.

You should try again whenever you feel physically and mentally ready. As Claire said above they generally tell you to wait until after your first period simply to make dating the pregnancy easier. I really hope things work out for you soon.
