Miscarried 3 weeks ago, bleeding again - AF?

I miscarried 3 weeks ago at 7.5 wks, bled for 2 weeks finishing last tues then started bleeding again this tuesday. Presuming this is my period but am sure I ovulated last mon and this bleeding is heavy, unlike my normal periods. Am assuming that miscarrying can mess your cycle up a bit, anyone have any wise words or experience to share?

hi sorry to hear your bad news
it sounds like perhaps your MC was not complete as it is heavy bleeding rather than period bleeding iyswim. MC do mess your cycle up but IME it makes the cycle longer and less predictable (i have had 3 MCs). this however isnt the case for everyone due to everyone being different.
did you have a scan after your MC to check everything had come away? if not retained 'products' can cause uterine infection which if left untreated can cause further issues. have you noticed any pain or smells that you dont usually have (TMI i know but the smell is the first thing you would notice from the bleeding!) if you have then i would say get straight to your GP ASAP and get some antibiotics which would then help stem the bleeding.

Hi ei, thanks for your message.
I started spotting on the friday by the tuesday it had started in earnest and was scanned on the thursday which showed minimal retained products. I had two courses of antibiotics and bled heavily with clots that eventually petered out. No pain now and now offensive smells just heavier than normal bleeding.

Did wonder whether something still in there, will see what happens over tonight then maybe see if can get rescanned...
