Please tell me it gets easier......

Today is my DC2's EDD, though I lost it at 7 weeks in July. Can anyone tell me if things get easier once u get over this final hurdle??

I think it does get easier once through the EDD - the next ones didn't seem as raw, or jump out at me the same way.

Hi, so sorry for your loss. I have lost 4 babies and each time the due dates and anniversaries are very hard but they do get more bearable in time.

So sorry to hear that. Are you and DH going to do something to mark the day? I've heard that some people find that helps - I know it certainly helped me to get over miscarriage to have a little thing with DH - but things had changed a lot by the time I got to EDD so we didn't do anything for that.

like jellybeans said - they are hard but manageable I have something to remember each of my little angels, and did something on that day and even if it's only a stone from a beach I have something which is significant. it helps.

Thanks everyone for your reply. A few months ago we planted a type of cherry blossom for the baby which is blooming at the minute and looks fab, a fitting tribute. Nothing planned today, gigglewitch I like your idea of a stone from the beach.

My DH thinks I should see someone as I am still sad (been crying a bit today), but I think it is normal isn't it??? I think everyone thinks I am crazy

Hey breeze - I'm so sorry for your loss. I must admit, the way you are coping is not the way I did but to each his own and that is fine. Your dh may not understand because he is probably thinking, "Ok already, just let it go and get on with your life." Honestly, this tends to be my approach on many things although I've been a basket case since losing my 3rd pregnancy in January. To me a basket case, to others, dealing with it just fine. I don't remember any of my due dates but that doesn't mean I'm not hurting something awful inside every single damn day. We all just deal differently. I write, I keep busy at work and school, and I drink plenty of red wine...lol. If you want to plant a tree, then so be it! It's not crazy. But I do think if you are still obsessing over it 5 years from now crying all the time, then yeah, that might be crazy! I've relegated myself to the fact that I'll be a bit crazy until I finally have a baby. Then I should be "normal" again!
