Small gestational sac but strong heartbeat?

Could anyone help illuminate?

I went for a scan yesterday and was told the baby measured 7 and a half weeks and had a strong heartbeat at 152. However the ob/gyn said the gestational sac was too small. He said this might not be relevant and the only thing to do was another scan in 2 weeks.

Now, of course, I am worried sick! Has anyone any experience of this, either positive or negative?

Hey doggus, there's been similar threads on the pregnancy forum. If you don't get reassurance on this one try the girls over there. Good luck!

well how many weeks do you think you should be?

Thank you 2manychips...

Eldonave - I thought I was about 8 weeks. The baby is the right size, it's the sac that isn't.

no words of wisdom, but just wanted to offer my support

I did find this though which might reassure you a bit.

sorry no idea about the sac being a different size so giving this a morning bump for you

good luck

Daisy - thank you so much for that, I shall keep re-reading it. And the fact that it only occurs in 1.5% of pregnancies may explain why EldonAve kindly had to rebump!
