Still bleeding-

Hi all

I posted a message few days ago becasue I was into my 8th wk of bleeding. Went for scan on Fri and product still found in uterus at 1.8cm in length. Decided to try fro D and C. Went for another scan yesterday and product measured 1.4cm. They told me it was right at the neck of the cervix and was going to come out. I felt better yesterday but spoke to my aunty today who is a midwife and she still thinks I should push for D and C.

The staff at the EPU said they didn't want to operate as so small an amount and because of the position being at the neck of service.

I m now feeling nervous again as my aunty said she waqs surprsied I hadn't got an infection after all this time, so now I am worried that I missed something with regards to an infection.

Can anyone advise please. Furball you said something similar happened to you?

You are still bleeding which is not great for you. I wouldn't trust the accuracy of the scan tbh

If it was going to come out surely that would have happened by now

The NHS prefers to do nothing if they can get away with it as it saves them money

If I was you I'd have the ERPC/D&C

by accuracy I meant that it has reduced from 1.8cm to 1.4cm

hi my name is tanya ive just had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks and the baby was onli 6 to 8 weeks big and stopped growing but the sac carryed on growing. its been 11 days since ive had erpoc,and im still bleeding on and off im not sure if its meant to have stopped by now but it seems to be gettig worse as the weeks go on. is this normal ?. im 19 and this is my first for trying for a baby. its kinda making me feel worse as the weeks go on as im not back to normal and its making me very emotional .
for the first few days off have the erpoc op i stopped bleeding and then spotting very dark brown blood and then stopped again. and its been doin that ever since,and now its just getting reder and heavyer every time ive had intercourse in the time that it had stopped propaly,but after having sex its started bleeding again 6 hours later. has any been though this if so do you ave any advice for me ? rang the hospital today and they dont seem to care how i feel right now and i have no idea wats going on with my body.

Tanya sorry for your loss. I also had a mmc at 10 weeks in January, the sac kept growing after the baby died. It's awful isn't it, you feel so cheated. If I were you I would push to get seen again at the hospital or call your GP about the bleeding. 11 days is not actually that long in mc terms so it may be nothing, but if it is getting heavier instead of lighter, there is a chance it could be retained tissue or an infection, both of which would need to be treated.

RubyF sorry to hear you've been bleeding so long. I also has retained tissue, bled for 5 weeks in total and was feeling really depressed by it. Had to have ERPC 4 weeks after mc. My EPU said if it's less than 20mm/2cm they wouldn't operate as it would come away with the next period if not before. But if you don't pass it in the next couple of days maybe take your auntie's advice. I was also worried about missing signs of infection - apparently the signs are a bad smelling discharge, fever and abdominal pain - but not all women have the fever. If you're really worried your GP can do a swab for infection and/or give you antibiotics just in case. Hope it all resolves soon.
