Advice please: remaining tissue after ERPC

I had an ERPC on Friday 6th Feb. The following Tuesday, I started to get really bad cramps and a few hours later, passed a LOT of tissue. I picked up with a gynacologist I had seen previously and although most tissue had gone, he was a bit concerned. I was put on some antibiotics and have to go back for a scan today to check everything has cleared.

If it hasn't, he may recommend another ERPC. I really don't want to have another procedure as I don't think it's good in the short term to have so much surgery (I also had an ERPC in early November) because I really want to get pregnant again asap!

Does anyone have similar experiences?

Hi Pecanpie, sorry for your loss. My experience is not exactly the same as yours - I had the medical management, and even after passing a lot of tissue and very heavy bleeding (I passed out!) I still have retained tissue and have to go back for an ERPC. I was worried about the surgery too, so I just wanted to share with you something the nurse in my EPU said to me, as it may help to reassure you. She said they have a very conservative technique when they do the ERPC, i.e. they are very gentle indeed to avoid causing any damage to the uterus. This means that sometimes they do leave some tissue behind and a second procedure is necessary, but it is better to have 2 gentle procedures than 1 which is overly aggressive (and therefore more risky). So even if you need another ERPC it should not compromise your plans to get pregnant again soon. With a bit of luck your sensible body will have passed all the remaining tissue naturally - hope the scan today is reassuring.

thanks kismaat. I hope so too! I really don't want any more messing around in there than there needs to be, especially as I'm fed up with the bleeding, which is a constant reminder of what has happened!
