First cycle after mc....

Is it normally this painful? I've had two mc, one in Nov and one two weeks ago and each time I've had really really bad ov pains that last about 2 or 3 days (at least I think they're ov pains, it's left side this time and when I mc'd the sonographer scanning me could tell I'd ov'd from the right ovary when I got pg) and then a day after the strong ov pains I get what I can only describe as womb ache. It's central sharp pain, really quite strong. Last time I thought oh goody, it's implantation pains, but I didn't get pg last time I felt these pains, so I'm assuming they're not implantation. They must be something else, but what? Anyone else felt the same? I'm going to have to take some painkillers and I didn't even need any for the mc.

I've always found ovulation more painful than AF.

MC'ed in November and I have a suspicion that I only ovulated properly last weekend - yes, it was very painful. The "womb ache" gets worse when sitting - ie sitting on the loo was painful. We were out for the evening and I could barely concentrate on anything around me - you can't exactly explain this sort of pain to DP's work colleagues though !!

I know they must be ov pains - come on the day of most EWCM which then dries up and AF arrives 14 days later regular as clockwork. Due Valentines Day - how romantic is that

I never normally feel ov so that's why I've noticed it so much these times. Maybe it's just the hormones going bonkers, but I know my hCG levels returned to normal very quickly because they were back to normal even before I started bleeding.

Afraid no chance of AF staying away - DP decided to have issues with TTC at the crucial time Am trying to be extra nice for the next 2.5 - 3 weeks, so he is more co-operative next cycle

Hopefully you will continue to feel ov, without so much discomfort - a definite bonus when TTC

btw - my first proper AF was awful aswell - the most painful I've ever experienced and hormone overload - could cheerfully have murdered DP several times over !

Jools.... just what you don't need, having to play those games to persuade dh's to ttc. Mine gets a bit when I'm all flirty flirty with him, "ovulating are we?" he says. He's right of course, but it does coincide with the time when I'm feeling most in the mood, 'tis Mother Nature's way of saying "come on then, make some babies"!

I don't remember my first af being that bad last time, quite the opposite, but I do remember the really strong ov pains. Then the next cycle I didn't have any ov pains. It's annoying because as you say, it's very helpful when ttc. The next cycle I got pg again so I didn't get to check it out, and fingers crossed I'm going to get pg again quickly so I won't get to find out if I've suddenly developed ov pains.

I think I scared him last time as Mother Nature took over and turned me into a sex crazed harlot for 3 days

That would be most mens' fantasy but when faced with the reality they're a little bit scared!
