First period after managed miscarriage

Hi,

I know there are a lot of topics about this and I have read them but I am still abit confused.

I had a managed mc on 7th December and bled for 9 days afterwards. I am still waiting for my period to start, the thing is, we haven't been using contraception on the view of "if it happens it happens", I never knew about the HCG levels staying high after a miscarriage and never thought to take a test until a negative line shows.

Im unsure of whether it is "normal" for a period to take this long to come after a mc but am now cautious (and kind of afraid)about getting a positive result,getting my hopes up and it only being that my HCG levels are still high (during my pregnancy I did have very high HCG levels linked to a chromosomal problem with the baby)-

Has anyone else taken 8 weeks or longer for their first period? Any comments or views would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, I had 2 (followed by a successful pregnancy) and each time it took approx 3 months for my period post miscarriage to arrive.

I suppose it will take longer as I mc at 20 weeks.
