My last period was 22nd october, had two positive HMP on 22nd november, started bleeding day before yesterday, doc sent me for a scan but they said they couldn't see pregnancy sac on scan but that my womb was thick, they took blood test and confirmed today that i am pregnant but that i will need to return tommorrow to do another to compare them. I am still bleeding mostly like a period with some light cramps with a few blood clots they doctors never answered any of my questions mainly cause he was foreign and could not understand me just stood there smiling at me. i am going out of my mind not knowing whats going on i think i have miscarried has anyone else gone through this with these symptoms but had a positive outcome

Hi, Sorry you are going through this. Not sure that I can be much help but didnt want you to go unanswered. I know lots of people have had bleeding but still been pregnant although if you are 7 weeks I guess they would have expected to see a sac. Was it an internal scan? Is your cycle regular? It may be that you are not as far along if you ovulated late or it may, sadly, be that you have miscarried. Hopefully you will get some answers soon as I know the waiting is terrible.

Hi Jellsbells - it may be a miscarriage but it could be just bleeding in pregnancy. It doesn't bode well that they couldn't see a sac - within six or seven weeks of pregnancy they will usually be able to detect a heartbeat. However they need to rule out both ectopic and molar pregnancies.

Do NOT leave the hospital tomorrow until you know what is going on. If you don't understand the doctor, ask to see a midwife to have it explained.

However I DID bleed very heavily at a similar point and DS was the result. So don't lose hope just yet. Lots of people miscarry one of a set of twins and go onto have one healthy baby, some people bleed all the way through otherwise very healthy pregnancies.

Fingers crossed for you.
