When did your AF return after MC ?

I'm getting impatient now so I thought I'd ask what others have experienced.

MC at 11+4 Sept 11th.

If day 1 of bleeding was CD1, then I would have been due on Monday, but no sign at all

I did have EWCM around normal OV time and what could have been ovulation pains, but the EWCM wasn't clear and I've been told this is common post MC and is not fertile. Also, after the possible OV pains, I didn't get the normal bloating and sore boobs, so am not convinced I did ovulate.

If this is an anovulatory cycle (which I gather is quite common post MC), then would I expect a longer luteal phase ??

2 days post MC, the EPU told me that my HCG levels were very low. Two weeks post MC, a Sainsburys test showed a strong positive. 3 weeks post MC, a Sainsburys test showed the faintest of faint lines that you could only see if you were really looking for it.

Could it be that that my cycle will not have started until HCG levels were negligible, making the date of the last test or thereabouts CD1 ?

So, I am in limbo-land but desperate to move on. Any predictions on AF arrival ?

Thanks

Hi jinglejools, sorry about your loss. Im still also still waiting for a period, i m/c on the 4th of nov, still getting strong positive test and still no period.

Maybe now that your testing negative, your period could be with you soon.

Could you be pregnant??????

JingleJools · 10/12/2008 12:18

hehe - I very much doubt if I could be pregnant !! DP has only ventured near me once since then - can't remember the date but just under 2 weeks after MC.

TMI but I don't think he "performed" until he'd left the building

So, I guess there is always a faint chance but very unlikely

I miscarried on 10 Sept, then my period began on 10 Oct and I conceived after that, only to miscarry again on 28 Nov. So am obviously still waiting this time round and am hoping it will be another month or so (unless I conceive in the meantime of course).

Catsmother that must be so hard to go through it all twice in such quick succession - you have my every sympathy

Hello.. Can I join you guys? I have just miscarried.. I was 11+5 weeks but baby had only made it to 8/9 weeks.. I started having brown sticky muscu last Monday which got brighter on Tuesday... I went to my local EPAC on Wednesday only to be told the worst. No heartbeat and no movement.... I opted for medical management, the gave me the first tablet (orally) in hospital at about 1pm on Wednesday, then 12 hours later at 1am, I went it to labour (for want of a better expression) and began to pass it - it went on for 5 hours until I finally passed the embryo.. I thought it was all over and rested up on Thursday afternoon with DH but then on Friday at about 9am I had horrendous pain (severe contractions but worse than before) and called the hospital up. I went back in and a scan showed there was still more to come out and they were about to give the vaginal tablet to try and soften the cervix to get the rest out but I managed to do it naturally, so they sent me home. Very hard to flush embryo down the loo and DH and I both feeling totally heart broken by the whole thing (it was our first) but we're keen to try again... Any advice? When's a good time? My sister in law concieved again just 2 weeks after a D&C and now has a beautiful health boy.. So there's hope I guess?

Hi Tinker Really really sorry to hear your news I was on the June thread (and still lurk ) too (with an EDD of May 29th) and miscarried very suddenly at home at the same gestation as you - ended up in A&E, terrified by the extent of the blood loss.

I finally got a BFN 3 weeks after the MC and think I ovulated today, CD33, so am in the 2WW again. I don't think there is normally any need to wait - just go with what your body and mind feels is right but don't get up to anything for a couple of weeks as your cervix will still be open - risk of infection

Take time to heal emotionally - your hormones will be running riot and, if you are anything like me, you will have some really really black days, then other days when you think you are getting better. It has taken me a month to feel emotionally normal again. Be kind to yourself, allow yourself to wallow and eat choc, but be wary of alcohol because it made my depression much worse

Come and chat with us on the Emmsys angels thread in here - everyone has been through what you are now experiencing and they are a lovely supportive bunch.

Ask any questions you want, and there is some fantastic information on this site

Thanks Jools.. I am on my onwn this morning, first time since it all kicked off so trying to keep myself busy!

It's really hard isn't it? I know it's really common but it doesn't make it any easier.

I am just trying to be positive and focus on TTC again but still bleeding and have read horror stories about getting an infection.. Did you have a D&C or any other intervention or did you just let it happen naturally?

When did the bleeding finally stop for you? And when did you BD again and not worry..?!

So many questions I am sorry!

JingleJools · 15/12/2008 10:53

Don't worry about the questions

I had a natural mc. I hadn't had any scares or scans, so thought all was OK and was looking forward to my dating scan. This was a massive, massive shock and the sudden extreme blood loss was terrifying

All I saw was a bit of brown blood on Sun night (my birthday) got me worried, then my boobs felt less inflated on the Monday. Travelled home on the train from hols and was incredibly amazingly thirsty - drank 3 litres of water ! I think now that was my body's way of preparing for what was to come - amazing thing the human body

That night (Mon), had red blood on wiping, so feared the worst. Got up the next morning to darker blood and a small clot. Lots of black tarry stuff during the morning and I just knew something was wrong, even though this was my first PG - put a pad in and sat quietly. I was home on annual leave because I had my dating scan booked for 3.50 that day (Tues). 1.30PM had a massive watery gush that soaked the pad, then I just couldn't move from the loo - it was horrific Phoned my antenatal unit who told me to go to hospital. Passed large clots, blood gushing out for a couple of hours and a pad was lasting only a few minutes, then tailed off to a heavy period by morning. That evening, I had really quite bad cramps (contractions ?) and passed something large - had the urge to push After that, the bleeding tailed off - like a light period for around 4 days, then stopped for a couple of days - started up again very light for a couple of days but was pretty much over in just over a week.

7 - 10 days after that, I saw lots of jelly-like brown-tinged EWCM (had been warned about that as it does not mean a fertile period - just the restart of a cycle I think)

Finally got a BFN 3 weeks post MC so decided it was safe to BD again after that without confusion between new / old pregnancy hormones. They do say not to BD for 2 weeks after the MC as your cervix will have opened and there is risk of infection.

Today is CD34. I normally have a 28 / 29 day cycle. I thought I felt ovulation late last week and had loads of EWCM, so BD'ed quite a lot. Had a small bleed yesterday - it felt too early to be implantation but didn't look or feel like AF. Nothing overnight but the same again this morning - now gone So, not sure if this is AF returning only a few days late or something else ...

I'm at work today, but being really lax and surfing quite a lot, so if I haven't scared you off by this massive post, feel free to ask any more questions you like It takes my mind off obsessing whether this is AF or not !!

Hey Jools.. All your comments are really useful.. I am still bleeding today (it's been a week since bleeding started) and I am feeling postive about trying again.. Just going to wait until bleeding has stopped..

Finger's crossed that you've fallen again..
