Foolish to have any hope?

Hi ,
I have two little girls; had a miscarriage in June at 12 weeks and think it's now happening again at 8 weeks. A bit of me is holding out some hope . I took a test and the line was growing fainter than it had been - but then I read you shouldn't do tests at 8 weeks because of the hook effect??
The bleeding is just not as heavy as I expected. I have had some clots, but most of the time it just feels like a lightish period and I can't feel myself bleeding bery often. I havent changed the pad very much - there was one moment where it soaked the pad yesterday but otherwise v manageable. I've had barely any pain.

Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing - unless I start getting ill I wasn't going to go and get it checked out as I don't think there's much point. I did last time as it was much more extreme , and they scanned and said it had all cleared out naturally.
My feeling is I'll do another test in 2 days and see if the line is getting fainter.

My test got very light at eight weeks due to the hook effect - you can check by collecting some wee, testing it, and then diluting it right down and testing it again. If it's the hook effect your second test will be much stronger. If it's just low hcg and a miscarriage then it will be weaker.

Admittedly the bleeding doesn't sound great, but occasionally people do bleed and have healthy pregnancies. Fingers crossed for you and hugs either way - the not knowing is awful.

I bled in my first pregnancy for two weeks ,so that's partly why I feel some hope ..but it was earlier on and lighter. Sigh, thanks for the hugs, I appreciate it. xxxxx
