Periods after miscarriage

I miscarried 3 weeks ago and have had really painful ovulation pain today, with discharge and pelvic pain and vaginal pain , I think i will be starting my period soon . I wanted to know if anyone has any advice for my periods after miscarriage? I've heard it will be very heavy but will it be painful too ?

Sorry for your loss @Accbabymom1994 , I’m just at the end of my first period after a MMC. Day 12 so much longer than my usual 3-4 days. No cramps or pain and not heavy, just lingering. My MMC was at 9 weeks, stopped developing at 6. Period came 7 weeks after passing the pregnancy tissue naturally.

Im about 4 weeks post miscarriage, still haven't started , ive just got constant cramps all the time. Sorry for your loss ❤️

Thank you ❤️. Are you still testing positive? I had a blood test after 6 weeks with no period as was getting worried that I still had a faint line. Hcg came back at 8, and a few days after period started. In the end it lasted 13 days, I’m now on CD 18 and in my fertile window waiting for my peak and ovulation.

My period didn’t come for about 3.5 months after I miscarried but when it did come it was normal for me

Baby stopped growing at 5 weeks, bleeding started at 7, got my period 4 weeks later.

I haven't tested as I don't want to go through the heartbreak of seeing it negative.

I'm so sorry for your loss ❤️ I had second MMC at 9 weeks (measuring 6 weeks on scan) at the beginning of August and it took 4 weeks to get a negative test.
My first period was a little heavier and lasted 6/7 days instead of 5, but the cramps I get on the first day were no worse than usual and nothing that ibuprofen didn't resolve.
I know it's heartbreaking seeing the negative test but it may be wise to do one. If it comes up with a positive (even a faint one) it would be best to call your EPAU clinic. A positive along with bad vaginal pain could signal there's some pregnancy tissue left behind and/or an infection.
I called the clinic when I was still tested positive at 3 weeks and they only gave me an extra week due to the fact I had no pain or signs of infection. The clinician said that if it was still positive at 4 weeks they'd get me back in to do anlther scan etc.

My discharge is now clear tho, if there was tissue wouldn't there be bloody discharge ?

Not necessarily. It's why they like you to take a pregnancy test a few weeks later as if you're still testing positive, it could mean there's still a small amount of tissue left behind due to hcg still being in your system.
Mine took 4 weeks but the nurse at EPAU said some people's hcg can take longer to come down.
I'd definitely get in touch with them if the pain continues though as they'd need to treat the infection if there is one.
Sorry, I don't mean to worry you. It's just that if it were an infection or a small amount of tissue is left behind it would need to be treated

Update: I started my periods 5 days ago . First day was mild cramps light blood, then the 2nd day was horrible. I was bleeding a lot with horrendous cramps and ibuprofen wasn't working. I was having cramps all night and then day 2 , 3 was bad and yesterday day 4 bleeding stopped all of a sudden, discharge was clear and now today I feel sick nd have tummy ache but I think its the bug around. I had unprotected intercourse day I started my periods. Silly me thought it was extra discharge from probably implantation. Went to the toilet it was blood. Hopefully I conceive on the next cycle ❤️ .
