Second Miscarriage and feeling helpless

Hi Everyone

I had my first miscarriage in February this year and this week have had my second. I'm devastated. Right now I should be getting ready to welcome my baby, instead im saying goodbye to another one I never got the chance to meet. The timing feels incredibly cruel.

Im so lucky that I already have a daughter but I cant help but think about everything we're going to miss out on, I was picturing christmas with a bump and seeing my daughter become the best big sister.

Ive chosen not to share our news with anyone this time, I feel so ashamed that my body has let us down again and I don't know how to comprehend what has happened.

My first pregnancy I just had a feeling from the start that something was wrong and so I wasnt shocked when we got the news, but this time felt different. It felt right and now I feel helpless that I didnt know something was wrong. I know there was nothing I could have done but hearing "its just something that happens" was a lot easier, although still heartbreaking, when it was just the one miscarriage and not two. Its hard not to blame myself this time.

I'm not really sure what im after by posting here, maybe just to feel less alone.

Hi OP, I’m so sorry for your losses.
i didn’t want to read and run, I could almost have written this myself, a loss in February and one confirmed today.

the timing feels so cruel doesn’t it - I found out I was pregnant again just before my earlier loss due date and it made the day easier.

please don’t blame yourself, there is nothing you could have done to change the outcome and one of the toughest things about early pregnancy is you just can’t know how it’s going, as much as you might have a feeling either way. Don’t be ashamed of your body, it’s most likely just awful luck.

please take care and I hope you have the support you need in this tricky time. You’re not alone ♥️
