4th Missed Miscarriage

Hi anyone,

Went for what should be a 9 week scan today to be told baby died at 7+1 (I had a 7 week scan where everything was fine).

Just feeling devastated that this has happened again. This is now my fourth missed miscarriage and I’m absolutely traumatised from scans.

Booked in for a D&C next week.

Just needed somewhere to vent. I saw the midwife only yesterday for my booking appointment, and it’s crazy how things can go from full steam ahead to just completely over in no time at all.

It just feels like bad news after bad news.

Just wanted to say this is so awful and I’m so so sorry. I’ve had one MMC before (and a none missed one plus I think a chemical) so I kind of get it but four is so desperately sad. Vent away!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a missed miscarriage and found scans terrifying after that too as I was convinced there would be an issue each time. I kept booking them weekly up to twelve weeks to stop me worrying but would almost have a panic attack before each one. I'm so sorry you've been through this four times, you poor thing.
As this is your fourth time, could you be referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic? They may be able to help with identifying any issues and maybe give you progesterone.

I have been referred to recurrent miscarriage and they did find a thyroid issue and prescribe me some medication, but only did the bloods at 7 weeks so pretty much too late.

I’m hoping that this is the issue and that with taking this medication maybe next time will be different (if I can get the motivation to put myself through this all again).

I am so so sorry. I had three MMC in a row - they are brutal and just no words to describe until you go through it yourself. I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and the fear doesn't go away - have my 20 week scan next week and I'm absolutely dreading it. I think pregnancy post miscarriage is just about survival and counting the time down x
