Will the bleeding ever end?!

Morning ,
I was 12 weeks pregnant and started to miscarry 5 weeks ago. It was very intense . I went for a thorough scan but they didn't offer d and c, so I assumed everything was cleared out. However, I'm still lightly bleeding every day. I have a follow up scan booked 6th August, so that's good.
Just fed up and want it to end ! Is this normal and did anyone else experience similar? X

I’m so sorry op. Had a similar timed mc before having my kids. I seem to remember it went on for about a month. So hopefully it’ll be clear soon.
Take good care of yourself and know that this is really common and doesn’t mean you won’t have kids later.
Sending huge hugs X x

I don’t understand why they do this. I went into hospital when my miscarriage was too much to handle. There was a lot of waiting (in stirrups) and then a woman scraped at me for ages, most hideous thing I’ve ever experienced. I begged for a D and C, they gave me one eventually but after lots of begging. Why would you want leave “product” in there any longer than you have to?

I had a similar stage miscarriage and had light bleeding for 9 weeks post miscarriage, my thoughts were exactly in you post title! I had a negative pregnancy test so the hospital wouldn't scan me until I kept ringing them they finally scanned me after 8 weeks of bleeding and could see a tiny piece of tissue. My bleeding stopped about a week later, my body either reabsorbed or it I passed it. I hope your bleeding stops soon or you get some answers.

Thanks so much for your responses. I've got a follow up scan on Thursday so will see if they can spot anything then.

@cherryicecreamisnice that sounds awful !! The very word 'scrape' is making me feel horrific . So sorry . Why can't they just offer the D and C as a matter of course!

@Mountainview8 thank you, really helpful to know ...I didnt know reabsorption was a thing but it makes sense and is something to hope for if there is something still in there

@Thebellsofshoreditch how are you doing? Did the scan show anything, are you still bleeding? Hope you're OK.
