Misoprostol vs Natural management while already bleeding heavily

Hi girls, I really need your opinions and experiences right now because I am completely exhausted both mentally and physically with this whole process, and I just don’t know what to decide anymore.
Here is my situation: I’m 38 years old and going through a missed miscarriage of a very small gestational sac (just over 1 cm). On Saturday, my body started reacting on its own and I passed some tissue. Today, Monday, I went for a check-up at the hospital, and they told me the sac is still retained but has moved very low down, practically at the opening of the cervix. The doctor helped detach it a bit during the appointment to make it easier for my body, and she gave me the pills (Misoprostol) in case I wanted to speed things up.
The thing is, a few hours after leaving the clinic, I started bleeding quite heavily (like a heavy period) and I’m having contraction pains that are manageable but intense. Since the doctor already kind of fragmented the sac and it's so tiny, I know it will be absolutely impossible for me to tell at home whether I’ve passed everything or not.
My question is: Based on your experience, what would you recommend I do? Has anyone taken the pills while already having an active, heavy bleed? Is it worth taking them to ensure everything clears out quickly so I don't drag out the uncertainty of whether it came out or not, or is it better to just let my body finish this bleeding on its own and wait a week for the follow-up ultrasound?
My mind is spinning and I am just exhausted. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for reading me!

I am sorry you are going through this, it's so physically and emotionally draining.
I just went through a medically managed miscarriage yesterday - I wasn't actively bleeding before, although I had a little bit of spotting the morning of before taking the medication. I have also had a spontaneous miscarriage in February and if it was a choice between naturally bleeding and waiting for it to pass by itself or taking the medication and getting it out quickly, I would opt for the natural route every time.

The medically managed miscarriage was extremely painful. I vomited several times from the pain/side effects from the medication, and for me the pain was worse than labour. I think I passed the sac within the first 3 hours as the pain did lessen after that, but I still have to wait 3 weeks for a negative pregnancy test and may have retained tissue - I think there is uncertainty either way.

That said, it is an intensely personal decision and you can only do what is right for you. I hope it all goes OK for you.

@Lua2203 how are you doing? I don't have experience of medical management, just natural and surgical. If the bleeding was heavy for a couple of hours and eased off hopefully you passed everything. I would ask for another scan to check.
