Are all these symptoms usual ?

Hello everyone,

I'm in the middle of allowing a 'natural' miscarriage to happen...it will have been going on for 2 weeks, this coming Wednesday.

Just when I think it's done, I have cramps again, and more bleeding (not too heavy) I've been having aches in my lower back too, plus my appetite has been down.

I'm supposed to be seeing a specialist 'sometime' following my ultrasound last week to 'see how it was going'. Well I haven't heard exactly how it's going, but it seems to be going on forever.

How long, for a 'natural' misscarriage have you all taken ? I found out at my 11 week ultrasound that the baby was only eight weeks, so very tiny.

I so want this to be over...

Any thoughts welcome.

Pam.

I'm so sorry that you're going through this. My only 'natural' miscarriage took 3 days in total (ie the amount of time of crampy, clotting, heavyish bleeding)- it sounds like yours just isn't completing on its own, and will need some intervention.

Go back to your GP or to the EPAU (you should have been given some advice on who to call if things weren't going well - at least I hope so), and ask for some advice.

That's what I was worried about...

I'd obviously like to have a D & C asap, but am worried how long it's going to take to get in, as I haven't even got my 'consult' booked with the OBGYN...

I'm in Canada, and I know our system isn't bad, but I really want this to be done if it needs to be done...

Do you know who the OBGYN would be ? If so, you could call them or their secretary direct and ask them about your situation. Otherwise, how did you access the ultrasound ? Can you go back to the same person who booked that ?

I had both of my ERPCs the next day in the UK, so hopefully its not much worse in Canada - although I know that waiting times for other things are longer.

I think it can really vary. I miscarried with an early gestation, but it took a long time. I was diagnosed with a mmc and there was a "tiny sac" (can't recall exactly how big it was, only a few mm) with no yolk sac or foetal pole. It was only about the size of a 3 or 4 weeks gestation pregnancy, but I miscarried at 7 weeks. The bleeding went on for two weeks.

tillergirl,
I have been going through EXACTLY the same thing as you. I took two months to MC and now it has been going on for over two weeks!. I found out there was nothing in the pregnancy sacs (They THINK there were two of them!) two months ago and it has taken me this long for them to go (well, I hopoe they've gone!).
I am also worried about this ongoing bleeding and am going for a scan tomorrow. I really wnat to avoid intervention but if it's necessary then....
