First period after miscarriage..
nearly been 3 weeks since miscarriage and wow no one warned me how heavy periods are after miscarriage.. i’m clotting and everything which is worrying me as i thought all of the left over bits had passed.. i did get scanned to confirm this.
Is this normal to be this heavy😩 also looked at my Flo app i’m not due for a period till end of the month, will my body ever get back to its usual cycle?

I'm sorry for your loss Flowers
How far along were you? What are your periods normally like? How often are you changing pads/tampons? Any pain/cramping? Large clots can get stuck in the cervix neck and cause terrible pain. If its more than 2 maxi pads an hour, for 2hrs or more than you should seek medical help.

I've lost 3 pregnancies. 1st one, I was 12weeks and needed medical management. I had a retained product and bled on/off for 3mths before a POC came out. Bleeding stopped, then a week later, the heaviest period of my life started. From memory though it was 2 days of flooding, then just light/spotting. It took maybe 3 cycles to get back to my normal.

My next 2 MC's, at 7 then at 9 weeks, I didn't have the heavy bleeding at all with my next period and my cycle returned to normal the following month. It seems everyone and every loss is different though. Wishing you all the best x

i’m not filling pads fast but it is heavier than usual. my periods are normally light-ish. but as a teenager i suffered really bad with heavy periods i even used to faint.
I looked on my flo app and im not due for a period till the end of this month but i guess it does take a while for your body to get back to its usual cycle.

I was 7 weeks pregnant but baby stopped growing at 5 weeks which the went onto having a miscarriage (naturally) i didn’t really bleed heavy then, just passed a big clot then spotted for a while. bleeding stopped within a week.

it’s been 3 weeks since my miscarriage, i thought periods don’t start till around 4/6 weeks after but i guess everyone’s different. I am Testing negative, last week was positive. Do i count this as a period?

this cycle has drained me mentally and physically i dont usually suffer with periods but i feel all hot and flustered, headache and just off.
i just want to get back to TTC but im not sure if my body is even ready yet i feel awful.
i was having a full on panic attack last night, i have a cyst on my ovaries and was worried if i had an infection or having a haemorrhage.

Have you checked you don't have a fever? Are you drinking enough fluids? As I said in my other reply, it was only my 1st loss where I had really heavy bleeding in the next period.

The loss at 7 weeks, my period started exactly a month after the bleeding started and I can't recall it being heavier than normal. Certainly nothing like the 1st MC.

Strangely, I too had a cyst on 1 ovary. Due to the retained product I had an U/Sound which also showed a 5cm ovarian cyst that was new. They rescanned me a few weeks later and it had completely gone. Do you know why type of cyst yours is?

they saw the cyst on my first scan and the nurse said she will speak to her consultant. the second scan for pregnancy showed no retained product, just some blood. and cyst was still there. The consultant then went through all the aftercare and mentioned the cyst, didn’t explain what kind of cyst just said cysts are like having a pimple on your face they come and go. “If i have any pain go to my GP or if i want to investigate to get referred”
I didn’t even know it was there till i had the scan. don’t get me wrong sometimes i had niggles in that area but put it down to ovulation.
i have no PCOS symptoms. and had all blood work done for infertility, all came back clear prior to finding out about the cyst.
