Healing after miscarriage

I had a natural miscarriage at 8 weeks. I personally found the whole process very traumatic both physically and emotionally.

is it normal to feel almost ‘flu’ like 2 and a half weeks after the start of the miscarriage? I seriously ache all over!
I’m in my third week of being signed off work and I’m trying to build myself up to go back next week. (I’m a gardener) but my goodness this is an uphill struggle…. It constantly feels like I’ve been at the gym

is this normal?
I still had a positive pregnancy test a week ago and EPU have said to test again next week. They’ve also scanned me and there was no retained tissue, just a thick lining still.
Im eating iron rich foods as well to keep the levels up.

im at a bit of a loss 🙁

Hi OP 😊
I’m so sorry to hear that, the emotional is traumatic enough without all of the physical struggles you’ve been having. Perhaps this is due to hCG and is just settling down (considering a week previous you had a positive test still) and the stress of the miscarriage is preventing you from recovering? You’re also more susceptible to picking up flu or a cold during times of emotional trauma and fatigue. I would recommend reaching out to your GP if you haven’t already, they may want to do some blood work…just to be safe 😊 I imagine when your period returns you’ll feel much better! Hope you feel better soon, sending a virtual hug.
