Hi everyone,

Thank you for reading my post.

This morning I’ve found out after some light bleeding that I’ve had a missed miscarriage. Baby’s heart stopped at 9weeks 3 days and I was meant to be 11 weeks today. My partner and I are devastated.

We also had a loss in October last year. However, this was found at our 12 week scan. We ended up having a CVS and found out the baby had triploidy which was incompatible with life.

I am a 35 year old female and partner is 33. I am wondering if due to my age and I’ve left it too late to have a successful pregnancy.

Feeling truly devastated and unsure on next steps. I have the surgery planned for Friday but don’t think I can go through this again. Should I be getting any genetic testing? I’m wondering if all my eggs are just bad :( :(

I am so sorry you're going through this again. Having been through missed miscarriages, the one thing I wish I'd done was test the tissue. If it's another chromosomal issue then the good news is there's probably nothing else you need to do, whereas if it was euploid, then there are loads of tests you can do which will probably save you heartbreak in the future. Keeping my fingers crossed that the next one is your baby :).

I’m so sorry for your losses. I know those feelings of despair after having 2 mc. You are no way too old, so please don’t think that, and don’t assume somethings wrong with you, I remember detesting my body for what felt like failing me, it’s so tough…but in majority of cases (and I did want to whack people round the face who said this)…it is just one of those things sometimes, losses are so much more common than we realise. I got lucky 3rd time round, and i hope you do too, brighter days are ahead x
