I’m hoping for some experiences as I’m feeling quite hopeless and stuck.
I had a miscarriage and ERPC in early July. Recovery initially seemed fine, but my cycles never restarted properly. After one heavy bleed in August, I’ve had almost continuous spotting/bleeding for around 6 months, with only very short breaks.
I’ve had scans showing:
- No retained tissue
- Endometrial lining around 10–13 mm
- A private gynae thinks it’s likely anovulatory bleeding / hyperplasia from not ovulating.
An NHS consultant also thinks it’s hormonal and suggested going on the combined pill to stop the bleeding. However, I’ve been on the urgent hysteroscopy list since September with no date, and my private gynae advised waiting to assess/clear the lining before starting the pill.
My ferritin is now very low (8.6), I’m exhausted, and I feel really let down by the system. I keep being told this “usually settles within a few months, your cycle hasn’t reset’’
I’m trying accupcuncture now, just at loss.
Has anyone had:
- Very prolonged bleeding after ERPC?
- Hormonal/anovulatory bleeding that took this long?
- Success with the pill while waiting for hysteroscopy?
Did it eventually stop — and what helped?
