3rd MMC in 10 months

Scan yesterday showed no heartbeat, enlarged yolk sac and fetal pole measuring 1 week behind. Have to go back in 1 week for second scan, but looks like baby died around 6 week mark. This is my 3rd missed miscarriage since March. I have had two D&Cs. I’m so scared of a third, the process is so traumatic and I’m really worried about scarring. But will the medicine route take ages? I am not sure I can mentally cope with it being prolonged, I’m so tired. Mentally and physically. Anyone had 3 D&Cs in a short space of time?

I am so sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine how devastated you must feel 💐 I was supposed to have a D&C a few days ago, but started ‘naturally’ at home before I could get into hospital. It was very sad but I found the natural process manageable at home (with lots of painkillers, support of my husband etc), and I think the process of going through it at home will help me heal long term. I was 10 weeks and also MMC. Sending you my thoughts in this difficult time x

I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m on my third MMC as well and it absolutely sucks. Just had a D&C yesterday. The last two MMCs I had MVAs. I believe MVAs are less intense in terms of scarring etc if that’s an option?

I’ve never had the medicine, but from what I’ve read it would probably be okay for you at 6 weeks as it works better the earlier you are apparently. Not sure how long it would take, but of course there’s always the risk of it not working and having to have the surgical anyway.

Sorry for the long reply, it’s because I had been researching all of this myself and decided on tablets (I couldn’t have MVA again as it was too fully booked and delayed with Christmas/New Year etc) and then changed my mind for a D&C last minute. X
