Symptoms following surgical management of MMC

Hi all. I’m interested in what symptoms any of you may have experienced following surgical management of MMC? I had the procedure a few days ago, to remove retained products. Had very very minimal discharge over the last few days sine the procedure, but tonight it’s increasing, not bleeding but there’s more of it, and I’m worried something is wrong. Anyone else had a similar situation?

Hi just wanted to say I am so sorry for your loss. I had a mmc a few years ago it’s really tough. As far as I recall I had minimal bleeding after it and it remained minimal. I don’t think that is the case for everyone and it can vary depending on activity etc. if you are concerned could you phone the ward that did the surgery? I had to phone the ward a couple of times for different things when I had my mmc and they were really supportive and happy to answer questions.

My discharge/bleeding is still very minimal, and it’s definitely no where near ‘bleeding’ levels - I think I’m just freaked out because the discharge had stopped but then started again a couple days later, and I didn’t know if that’s normal 😕 I know if I call the ward they will say it is, because they told me to expect ‘bleeding’ for up to 3 weeks, but they never really covered whether it’s okay for it to stop/start, so wondered if anyone else had gone through that!
