Annovulatory cycles post miscarriage

First time posting so bear with me! A few months ago I had a miscarriage which was found on an ultrasound at 11 weeks. Baby measured 9w+4. Medical management failed so then had to have surgery to remove the retained products.

Got a negative pregnancy test 3 weeks later (early Oct) and then a couple of weeks later I got normal ovulation symptoms (egg white mucus, ovulation cramps). However my BBT never rose and I didn't get a positive ovulation test like normal. It was almost like I got close but my body couldn't quite do it.

Fast forward 2 weeks and I am having horrendous mood swings and extremely tender breasts. I took some pregnancy tests which looked like they had very faint positives but in hindsight may have been evaporation lines. I am definitely not pregnant as since had a number of negatives.

I am now over 7 weeks from the operation and havent had a period. I suspect it may have been an annovulatory cycle but just at a loss at what happens next. It is not clear whether I will eventually just bleed or whether I will have another cycle first?

Would welcome any thoughts and guidance from those who have been through a similar thing because finding the uncertainty really tough.

Hi OP- sorry to hear you are having a bloody shite time.
A slightly different scenario but I had an ectopic removal in July, and it took almost 8 weeks for my period to come back. I’ve had three cycles since then, and they’ve been a bit all over the place to be honest, but I have been reassured that they will settle down.
Just so you know you aren’t totally on your own. Sorry again for your loss 💐

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply and very sorry to hear you have also been through the ringer! Its just really helpful to be able to set my expectations because most friends who have had miscarriages has multiple periods in the time I havent had any.

Out of interest, was your next cycle also as long or did it start to decrease in length fairly quickly?
