Hi all,

Id be 5w +2 today, I had a hcg draw Thursday it was only 22, Sunday it was 21. Today (Tuesday) iv just started bleeding now.

What do I do now? I have another hcg draw tomorrow to check.

Any recommendations for pads/ what to do?

I'm sorry that you are going through this. You could contact your local Early Pregnancy Unit when they open this morning, they will likely be able to book you in for a scan and talk you through the different methods available to 'manage' the miscarriage.

A hot water bottle/heat pack can be helpful. Do you have people to support you?

Sorry this is happening. Are you being supported by EPU or a fertility clinic?

You will probably need thick maternity pads for a while and may find just sitting on the toilet for a while helpful when you pass the pregnancy. Keep an eye on your bleeding/ pain levels and don't be afraid to contact the hospital if you think one or both of them is getting too much.

With a HCG that low, it physically won't be very different to a period. You won't pass anything noticeable. I've always just used the nighttime pads for mine.

Emotionally is where you need to prioritise - do whatever makes you feel held and comforted. X

Thanks everyone!

I had another blood test this morning, my levels are down to 8.3 and I’m currently passing it.

Be kind to yourself, take time for whatever helps you to feel better in difficult situations. Chocolate, trash tv and being cocooned in bed helped me, as well as being able to talk and let it all out when I needed to. There is good support online if you feel that would be helpful, e.g. Tommys, Miscarriage Association, The Worst Girl Gang Ever. I found TWGGE book so helpful while processing my second miscarriage, it really validated and explained all the different feelings I had.
