TW miscarriage / possible molar pregnancy

Looking to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

I was around 13 weeks pregnant feeling all the usual symptoms but having some very light bleeding after going to the toilet. My gp referred me to the hospital for an early scan although my dating scan was booked for later that week. The early scan revealed that sadly there was an empty sac / no baby. It was a massive shock for us as I had felt quite nauseous during the first 10/11 weeks and felt the symptoms more extremely than my first pregnancy with my son. I opted for a d&c which I had the following day and was told it all went well. Trying to move forward with things I returned to exercise quite quickly. I was then told I may have had a partial molar pregnancy and would have to await results from a special clinic that would take a few weeks. I have been told, 4 weeks post d&c that the clinic “don’t think it was” a partial molar pregnancy but want me to do blood tests to check my hcg to be safe.

has this happened to anyone before? I feel like I’m on an actual rollercoaster and can’t really take that as good news as I still need to wait for bloods etc. it’s such a confusing space to be in but I suppose miscarriages are just totally head wrecking. My heart goes out to anyone who has or is experiencing one as it is so so difficult.

Sorry you are going through this. I had a partial molar last year (confirmed as one) and had to do the blood tests through the clinic. Seeing as they don’t think it’s a partial molar, your hcg levels should drop quite quickly so hopefully you don’t have to do the blood tests for long, as they are just monitoring the hcg. I had a d&c beginning of May & was discharged by them towards end of July

I had this, although it was caught a bit earlier. Ended up having surgical management (MVA) at 11 weeks. I also had strong pregnancy symptoms right up until my procedure.

I am still waiting for the results of the testing of the material after the surgery, so I am still a "maybe" for molar. As far as I can tell, for partial molar the "management" is pretty much just follow up for HCG testing until it returns to normal anyway. The main kicker is that you may have to wait a bit longer to try again.

I am so sorry you are going through this - it is just a shitty shitty situation. I know I can't say anything to make it better, but I just wanted to let you know you are not it in alone and I am sending solidarity.
