Irregular periods and TTC after 2 miscarriages

Looking for some advice on what to do before we start TTC again. Background info, really irregular periods (anything from 23 days - 50 day cycles), 2 miscarriages (one Jan 2024 at 6weeks, the other December 2024 at 10 weeks).

Im about to have my bloods done though the hospital following my 2 recurrent miscarriages. These check: Anti phospholipid syndrome, Anaemia, Vitamin D deficiency, Thyroid Function, Thyroid Antibodies.

My question is, should I also ring the doctors about my periods as obviously the bloods aren’t going to diagnose anything down there as such? If so what is the process? Last time I went regarding my cycles, they wanted to put me on the pill for a few months “in the hope it would regulate my cycle”, obviously with TTC I do not want to put anything else into my body. Or do myself and my partner just go private and get private testing for fertility?

I really don’t want to wait however long going through my GP, however, will private testing actually give me the answers I need in regards to TTC with my really irregular cycles without a diagnosis of anything?

Thank you in advance, just really torn with what to do.

Hi op, the bloods might pick up on your irregular cycles, they did for me. I was having irregular cycles that varied from 40-50 days, and the bloods I had done thru recurrent miscarriage clinic picked up on a certain hormone which indicated pcos. So along with the miscarriages and irregular periods they were able to diagnose it that way

That’s good to know, thank you! Just praying it picks something up as I’m about to lose my mind with everything. So sick of my cycles
