Pain afterwards - how much longer?

I have another thread on here about waiting to have a miscarriage confirmed and the MVA. I had the MVA on Monday… no pain at all during the procedure or when we left the hospital, but some very painful cramps for a few hours that afternoon. Tuesday was fine, little bit sore but nothing unusual.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and today I have woken up with no pain or bleeding, but mid to late afternoon have had strong painful cramps, some red blood and yesterday and today some clots. It even hurts a bit when I go to the toilet, like everything is just bruised and swollen (sorry). I actually called the EPU to see if this was normal and they said it was, and perhaps I had been doing a
bit too much (I’ve been at work).

Is this everyone else’s experience? I went for MVA because everything I read said you went back to normal more quickly.

Can anyone else say how long they still had cramps and clots after a procedure? I just want it over with and not to have this constant reminder. I think it’s worse because I have never suffered from period pain (so when they’re saying to me it’s like strong period pain I have no reference) and I’ve used tampons for 20+ years so actually seeing it all is not usual for me!

So sorry to hear about your MC 🙁
My situation was slightly different as it passed naturally but I didn’t want to read and run. I had lots of clots and on/off period like pain for around a week. I found a hot water bottle really helped ease the pain. Completely understand just wanting it to be over X

Finally, no pain so far today! I’ve forced the elderly dog on a two mile walk and done loads of gardening so maybe a load of activity helped!

I had a lot of pain/pressure in my lower back/bum after an MVA for retained placenta after my miscarriage. It sorted itself out after a couple of weeks but it was very uncomfortable when I needed to go to the toilet.
