Bleeding at 5 weeks.

Hi.
I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant and have had bleeding and cramps on and off for about a week. It has never been a lot and seems to be old blood. Because of this I went to my GP and had blood tests done over a few days. My results came back and my hCG levels were rising at a rate they were happy with. I was told it was more common than people think and to continue monitoring it as well as keeping an eye out for any symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy/bright red bleeding/sharp pains.
I have just had a VERY small amount of bright red bleeding, it didn't pour out, just when I wiped. So I popped a small tampon in to check the situation (apologies for the TMI) and there was barely anything on it.
After a missed miscarriage in July last year, I'm understandably anxious about everything going wrong.
We were so excited when we found out I was pregnant again, it's been a long year, but now we are just in a constant state of anxiety and stress, which won't be helping 😞.
I'm just wondering if anybody has experienced this and gone onto have a successful pregnancy?

Any stories/advice/reassurance would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry you're having a tough time. I had bleeding in 3 of my pregnancies. 2 if them ended with healthy babies. Good luck.

As above, I've had bleeding in two of three pregnancies. One was a miscarriage, so when on my third pregnancy I started bleeding and filled a tampon in 15 mins I was distraught. All was fine, turned out it was probably a haematoma, and once it stopped it didn't happen again. Fingers crossed for you.

Just to say try to avoid tampons- they can increase risk of infection in pregnancy. Really hope it all settles down.

I had this about the same time in my pregnancy, and another episode of bright red bleeding at 15 weeks. He’s at primary school now. Your hcg continuing to rise is a good sign, really hope it works out for you.

Hi @stelartiger I just wanted to say hello in solidarity, I’m 6 weeks and have had spotting since last Wednesday, then today had a bit of a gush of bright red blood. I called EPU and they’re bringing me in for a scan tomorrow morning. About half of pregnancies with early bleeding progress normally so I really feel we’ve a 50/50 chance at this point. I’ve just been trying to keep myself busy with puzzles and cleaning - have you called EPU?

@7nationbaby hi, I hope all goes well for you 🤞🏻 it's scary isn't it.
I've been busy with work but part of me is thinking that isn't helping because I work in a kitchen so I'm constantly rushing around and always hot, maybe I'm just paranoid but my head's all over the place at the minute 🙈
Not going to lie, it hadn't even crossed my mind to contact them, but might be worth a try tomorrow
Thank you!

@stelartigerI went today for a scan and they weren’t happy with the progression so I’ve to go back in a week to confirm - if there’s no heartbeat then it’s over, but they said the bleeding is unrelated and totally normal
