Hi I had a private scan and my LMP would of made it that I was 11 weeks 4 days but when they did the scan the baby show 5 weeks 5 days they suspect a missed miscarriage I'm stressing with being in limbo and really just need some advice im struggling with the fact that if it is a missed miscarriage the fact I still have all the pregnancy symptoms I feel totally fine in every way I have another scan booked at the hospital and they will be taking bloods. Is there any possible hope that its not a missed miscarriage. I have had two miscarriages before my first child. Thank u all that comments sorry for being so long 😊

@Masemellowmum I'm so sorry that you are having this experience. MMCs are always shocking because, as you say, you have all the symptoms and generally feel fine. I, and many others in these forums, have experience with these and it is a really awful feeling. I suspect that if you are 11.4 weeks by dates and the scan shows growth as 5 weeks and 5 days then sadly the diagnosis is very likely to be correct. I am thinking that your bloods are being taken by your maternity unit and that they are also scanning you. It is normal practice in the NHS to rescan a week after a scan when MMC is suspected in order to confirm the diagnosis but it is often really a formality. I would really love to be really positive and say that I would suspect an error but if your private scan was conducted by a well qualified sonographer I think your diagnosis is unlikely to change.
The only way that you could have a misdiagnosis is if you were in fact around 6 weeks behind where you think you are in your pregnancy and this is probably unlikely. Sending you a hug and sorry again for your experience.
