2 different miscarriages at 5 weeks

I've had a miscarriage in Feb at 5.5 weeks, it was very painful for a whole day, heavy bleeding and passed loads of clots and tissue. Probably the worst sunday of my life.

Having a second miscarriage now at 5 weeks as well. Bleeding has been mild for 3 days (now slowly stopping), cramping mild as well, and no big clots or tissue. Miscarriage confirmed on bloods but I'm surprised I'm not passing tissue this time. Does tissue definitely need to pass?
Every day I've been bracing for that part which was so painful last time..

I’m currently going through my first miscarriage at just 6 weeks so I don’t know what’s “normal” but my experience has been 3 days of on/off red spotting and then slightly heavier bleeding and bad cramps but still no massively heavy bleeding. When I used to get cramps like this, it would be in conjunction with a heavy period so I keep expecting there to be loads of blood…but there isn’t yet. Am finding it very confusing and like you, I keep bracing myself for a massive gush or huge clots. I know it might still happen but this definitely isn’t how my normal periods go. Because of the variation between women, I imagine it could also vary for each miscarriage for one person?

Sorry you're going through that too 😔

Yeah so this time I had bleeding for longer, but not massively heavy like last time, and no clots or tissue. I kept preparing for the worst and then it eased off, I was surprised that was all.

So you're probably right, it can vary from miscarriage to miscarriage even for the same woman.
