Three consecutive MMC

I just found out today that I’ve had my third MMC in a row.

We had an ultrasound at 6+3 - heartbeat and all looked good. Went back today at 9+3 to find out embryo stopped growing around 8 weeks and there was no heartbeat. This time I tried acupuncture, myself and my husband both took Proceive for around 3 months, and I took ubiquinol. I also took low dose aspirin from positive test and progesterone from 6+3. The first ultrasound did show 8mm fluid in the pouch of Douglas but it wasn’t mentioned and I understand that’s relatively normal.

My first MMC was found at a private scan in July 2024, I was supposed to be around 9 weeks, measuring just under 5 with no heartbeat. I had an MVA.

My second one was in November 2024, again found at a private scan, exactly the same situation as first time, and I had another MVA.

After my second miscarriage I was referred to the Recurrent pregnancy loss clinic. All they’ve done so far was some bloods in January all of which look fine, although I am yet to have a proper consultation with the consultant. They have agreed to send this third loss for testing and I have asked my GP for a referral to Tommys.

I have a 2 year old girl and that pregnancy was uneventful - she was a happy surprise and everything went smoothly.

I am 38 and my husband is 43 so I know time is not on our side.

I feel heartbroken today and have lost hope that I will ever give my child a sibling.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I am scared we have run out of time.

I'm so sorry for your losses and all you've gone through. Unfortunately I don't have a good news story, but wanted to let you know you're not alone. I've had 4 MMCs in a row (no living children). My third and forth were tested and because they were due to chromosome issues me and my partner had karotyping done and turns out I have a balanced translocation and a robertsonian translocation (rare to have this combo!) but also turned out the 3rd and 4th loss were random spontaneous genetic issues and actually not related. Which was a massive kick in the teeth.

I qualify for IVF on the NHS now so might be preparing for that (as we would get genetic preimplantation testing). Although currently waiting to see if my current spontaneous 5th pregnancy ends the same way.

I am sorry for your losses. It’s so hard. I’m hoping for you that this one goes well.
