Hello,

I unfortunately had a missed miscarriage at 17 weeks. At our 12 week scan everything was OK but they couldn't do the combined screening test as the baby was moving too much. I had my 16 week midwife appointment and listened to the Baby's heartbeat. Then 2 days after I had my blood test for the quad screening.

Following the results my AFP levels were raised so they brought my ananomaly scan forward. This is unfortunately when they said there was no heartbeat 💔 We now face the wait for the post mortem report.

My question is how long does it take hospital have said 4 months but is this from the Baby's death or from when the post mortum was done, which was around 4 weeks after?

So sorry for your loss. Most of the time it is from it being performed although this can vary trust to trust but I think you need to prepare for a potential inconclusive result. I can't remember from the top of my head but it is a fairly high percentage. Obviously you may get answers but try not to focus on the time the results are due in as the day you will get your answers as you may not. I say this kindly as I have seen people focus on that date and then struggle with their grief even more if it is inconclusive. All the best!
