Cycle after MMC

Hi everyone, first time poster here.

I know things are different for everyone but I’m just wondering if anyone can offer their own experiences about getting their cycle back after a missed miscarriage?

for background I had a mmc confirmed 20th March, I was 10 weeks but only measuring 6.5 with no heartbeat. I was booked for MVA 1st April but I passed everything naturally before then (confirmed at scan on 1st)

I started spotting / light bleeding 15th March, had really heavy bleeding/clots 23rd March and stopped bleeding 30th march.

I guess what I’m asking is when would I expect to get some sort of cycle back? What I’ve read says it can take 4-8 weeks to have your period afterwards. I’m not really sure when that’s from though, the day I started bleeding, the day I stopped?

It’s all quite confusing and like a lot of others in this situation I just want to be pregnant again so hoping to start trying again asap. Thanks for reading.

Sorry to see you’ve just been through a miscarriage. I’ve had several and my periods tended to come back 5-6 weeks after the main bleed with all of them (all spontaneous miscarriages apart from my most recent which was surgical today so no idea with this one).

I’m just over 9 weeks here and still no period!!! I was going slightly insane but just trying to go with the flow and know it will come back at some point.

I was only 5 weeks and 5 days along before I started bleeding. xx

Hi @ScattyCatLady so sorry for your loss. I had an MMC diagnosed on the 21st of January. Similar weeks to you. I was 9+5 but baby was measuring 7 weeks with no heartbeat. I was booked in for a D&C on the 4th of February. I passed some myself on the 30th of January but I did still need the op as there was some retained tissue. I got my period on the 28th of February which was about four weeks after I first started bleeding. From what I read it seems they count the first day of bleeding as CD1.
I, like you, was also desperate to be pregnant again. My next two cycles after that were shorter and I ovulated later. .t third cycle I ovulated earlier and I caught. Currently 4+4. Nervous but trying to relax as much as possible!
