Has anyone got experience with retained tissue?
I had a medical TFMR at 16 weeks on the 14th of march.
I have bled continuously since then which has been mainly light bleeding however I had a big bleed last week where I had to go to the emergency gynaecology unit, was prescribed antibiotics and booked in for a scan where 28mm of retained tissue with a blood supply was found. My bleeding reduced again after last week.
I had my hcg tested again which came back at 14 which is low so a good thing, I was given misoprostol on Tuesday but nothing has happened, my bleeding has stayed red but has reduced to light bleeding again. I rang up epau as I felt nothing was happening, however they just said I need to give it longer and they will check in with me next week. Part of me wishes I had gone for surgery option now but I was reluctant to because of scarring risk (I’ve had 3 surgeries for mmc before).
They did say that sometimes the retained tissue comes out without a big bleed or cramping and I wouldn’t notice, but I’m sure I’d notice something that was 28mm coming out?
I’m wondering if when I speak to them next week if I still feel nothing has happened if they will give a second dose or discuss surgery again if anyone has experience of similar?
