Significant bleeding during d and c

Hi

I had a d and c today after a silent miscarriage at 11 weeks 3 days (found on 12 week scan last week). They told me when I woke up I had lost 600 mil of blood, and from googling, it's normally expected to lose up to 300 ml.

Has anyone else had a similar experience without going on to have more complications?

I'm scared they might have perforated something.

Thanks in advance

I would ring someone just to check. Ring 111.

I'm not bleeding much now, it was during the procedure and I heard the nurse say it when I woke up, but was worried that this might mean they have nicked something or caused scarring.

It's probably ok, the whole experience has just made me really anxious and over think everything, and I'm terrified of getting ashermans syndrome.

Hi @NeatZebra How are u doing now? I am currently going through a loss at the same stage you did. Went for 12 week scan (at 13 weeks) and the babys heartbeat had stopped beating at 11 weeks 3 days. The thing I can't get my head round is that we had several scans during this pregnancy and all was good, the last one being when the baby measured 11 weeks so literally days later our babys heart stopped. We had already told family and some close friends as the baby was progressing healthy. This is my 9th loss and we have 1 daughter who will be 2 in September but it doesn't make this loss any easier. I opted for the medical treatment and am still currently bleeding 3 weeks later although it's not heavy, I just want my body to start getting back to normal.

Ahh I'm so sorry for your loss, I can't imagine the pain of going through this 9 times. I'm 3 months down the line now and we had a cystic hygroma showing on the scan which I'm still waiting for the genetic testing back on as hospital sent wrong bloods. My periods are pretty much non existent now ( had 3 periods since d and c) with hardly and cramping so I'm waiting for ashermans testing but have to follow NHS protocol so can't be referred until I've had an ultrasound which I'm waiting for.

How are you doing now @GA1990
