Bleeding after D&C

This is my first time posting so apologies if any mix ups.
I was wondering if anyone experienced a similar bleeding pattern after an early D&C for retained tissue. I am now 2 weeks, 2 days post op.
I had no bleeding for the first day and a half, then 5 days of light/medium red bleeding then 5 days of no bleeding then spotting that led to heavier bleeding. I had a scan yesterday and it is definitely not my period. Since the scan, I've had heavier bleeding with some clots which has now settled again.
The nurse at the hospital thinks it is abnormal/erratic bleeding which isn't normal after a D&C (because it is stopping and starting and has lasted more than 2 weeks) but I think I've read people's experiences where the bleeding stopped and started and lasted more than 2 weeks.

Hi OP. Firstly, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I had a D&C in early February. I did pass some tissue myself a few days before. I didn't experience stop start bleeding. I had very light bleeding for a few days after but that was it.

Did the scan show any remaining tissue? Did the nurse say if you need further investigation?

Thank you for your reply. I'm so sorry for your loss. I have got some very tiny pieces still left which they said they wouldn't be concerned about if it wasn't for the bleeding. I've been bleeding since January so ive had enough. From what you've said the bleeding must be due to the retained tissue rather than the recovery from D&C. Thanks again x

@Asti1986 you're very welcome. From reading here about other women's experiences it seems many were told any remaining tissue would come out in their next period. I can understand you having enough. You must be fed up. Are you gonna make contact with the hospital again?x
