MMC, Blighted Ovium and Painful bleeding

Hi all,

I had a scan on Thursday as I’d had some bleeding that day and just felt something was wrong. I was meant to be nearly 11 weeks pregnant but found no heartbeat and the baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks 3 days. I thought my nausea and sickness was lessening because I was getting closer to 12 weeks, not because I was having a miscarriage. There were signs which I feel I missed.
There was also a smaller empty sac next to the baby which had no foetus inside on my scan, which was also a surprise as I’d never heard of this before.

Yesterday I started having small pains in my stomach and more bleeding however today has been a shock. I have had really painful cramping and lost quite a lot of blood alongside 9-10 clots or tissue. I haven’t been able to look at the sizes or what it actually was. It was super painful from 9am-2pm when most of the tissue/clots passed, but I still have pain in my lower stomach now. It is painful enough that I can still feel it after taking paracetamol and I don’t feel that I will be able to sleep tonight. Has anyone had a similar experience? Will the pain stop soon or is it likely I have more to pass?

Hi, I noticed nobody has replied to your post. How are you doing now?
I’m so sorry this happened to you. I also had a miscarriage at around 12 weeks and was told the baby had died before then. I passed the baby at home without drugs and it was extremely surprisingly painful. How are you now? I’m very sorry for your loss.

Hi @Lemonvalley

Thank you for your response! I am doing better than I was. The pain has subsided and my bleeding is light. My hormone level hasn’t dropped enough so I need to go back for my third blood test next week. Tbh I just want it all done for some closure but seems to be dragging out. So sorry for your loss too. Hope you are well x
