Sick note after miscarriage - taking time off

Hi all,
I had medical management last week wc 3.3.25
so far I have been off work for 3 weeks. My sick note runs out Friday 14th March. I work as a teacher (they’ve been really supportive) and due back Monday however I’ve started taking antibiotics for an infection and paranoid that I’ll need more intervention.

would you advise to stay off until I get my negative preg test or go back to work because I’m ok? I feel ok to be in work but just concerned that I’ll need to be off again in a couple of weeks.

I'd ask to extend your sick note so you don't end up with more instances of sickness at work personally.

I think if you feel well enough to be back at work (both physically and emotionally) I would go back and if you do become unwell again just be off again. I don’t think taking time off ‘just in case’ is a good reason but, having had miscarriages myself, I know it can be hard so I would do what seems right for you and not go back if you don’t feel ready.

I would stay off personally, and it stays as one period of pregnancy related absence.

I wanted to stay off until my negative as I was also concerned about needing further treatment and I decided to go back earlier which I now regret. Stay off until you’re ready!
