Is this a miscarriage?

Hi, I have been at a&e due to spotting and they subsequently found I had low HCG levels. Is this bleeding normal or definitely a sign of a miscarriage? Sorry for the graphic photo

How many weeks do you think you are? Low HCG could be due to it being very early. What HCG number are you?

my HCG was 658 and I thought I am 6 weeks exactly. The Dr said this is too low and unlikely to see anything on a scan (which they have scheduled for this morning) - but looking at the charts, hopefully I am in the 5 week range which would mean that it’s ok? But that coupled with the now bleeding has made me so worried x

How did the scan go? Are they repeating the HCG test?

They couldn’t see anything on the scan other than something on my ovary and womb thickened which they said could be a sign of a very early pregnancy or it could be ectopic so I am now following a ‘pregnancy in unknown location” pathway and they told me to come at 8pm tonight to have my bloods repeated. I’ve turned up and they have no idea who I am or what I’m here for! They’ve taken my bloods but they don’t seem very aware or concerned, when the nurses this morning said they would go through the results and decide a plan tonight!

Ugh, that’s horrific. I’m so sorry. Can you call someone to follow up on this? I’m sure you’re aware that if it’s ectopic it needs to be followed closely. I’m sorry that they aren’t providing better care tonight, it’s shocking.

Thank you so much. I asked if I could stay as I didn’t feel comfortable leaving and just not knowing. They have said I will have the results in 30 minutes. The doctor said she saw my scan and read the report and she stated that it definitely appeared to be a pregnancy in unknown location and didn’t seem very optimistic re this just being an early pregnancy, which I actually appreciated the realism. Feels like the longest 30 minutes waiting and still now it won’t be a definitive answer.

Pretty quickly, within hours. I've had losses between 6 weeks and 13 weeks and they've all progressed quite quickly at the beginning though the bleeding has lasted a long time.

I don't know how much detail you want and it might be different for you. It is also possible to bleed and everything be ok but that's never been my experience in early pregnancy.

I had blood like that as well as pink spotting in both my pregnancies between 4 and 10 weeksish I haven't had a miscarriage to compare to though

It's too hard to say just yet.

I bled bright red heavy twice with both my pregnancies around 7 weeks and 10 weeks.

I also feel like it looks a bit like implantation bleeding. Could you be earlier than 6 weeks.

I've had bleeding like that turn into a miscarriage.....and bleeding like that turn into a successful pregnancy. So it could go either way in that sense.

The doctors will know from the HCG if they should be able to see anything on the scan.

It could just be early. If it's ectopic it might resolve itself but they will want to keep an eye.

I have just had my HCG levels back and they have doubled to 1408. We are being rescanned in a week. So nervous but worried. An ectopic isn’t ruled out of course but it is much less likely now the HCG is rising. I am just praying that it means I ovulated late and am behind what I should be. So scared but I guess have a week now to try and keep my mind off things

I think that there is still hope and that you might just be really early. A gestational sac might be hard to pick up, especially on an abdominal scan at that level if HCG. Good luck and fingers crossed.

I never had heavy bleeding and I never had any cramping no pain whatsoever. I heard my baby's heartbeat on Feb. 19 I was told it was low. Feb. 26 had another ultrasound no heartbeat. I had my HCG check Feb. 26 & 27 HCG went from 33,000 to 34,050. March 4 HCG rechecked dropped to 23,000. I decided for natural. March 6 I started spotting. Bleeding started March 10 but it was never heavy more like a light/ medium period. Yesterday March 11 I was walking and I felt something coming out I went back in the house and when I pulled my pants down it just came out. I am unsure what it is because I have never had a miscarriage. From what I read online when the sac comes out heavy bleeding follows but that didn't happen with me. It actually slowed down and went to spotting. Today it's like a light period and spotting. I took a pregnancy test today and still a strong positive so I am not sure if I passed everything. Before the spotting started I had discharge that looked like that. The photos I attended are from Feb 28. I hope this helps you out. Praying for a better outcome for you.
