Completely painless miscarriage at 6 weeks?

Hey everyone

Just looking to see if anyone has had a similar experience. I started spotting at 5 weeks, browny discharge. At 5+4 spotting dark red blood. At 5+5 the bleeding started, like a heavy period with small clots, it's been like that since - for five days.

I lost all my pregnancy symptoms and I only get a positive pregnancy test if I do the first wee of the day and even then it's faint. If I do one later in the day, it's negative.

The thing is I am so confused as I've had no pain, not even a tiny bit, literally nothing, no cramps, no aches.

Is this in any way normal? I keep waiting for severe cramps and passing of tissue but it's not happened yet and it's stressing me out to be honest.

I can't seem to find an experience like mine online so want to hear others experiences!

Ime it can just be a heavy period with clots. There really isn’t much to see at 6 weeks. There was only one mc where I had horrendous cramps. My other MCs around 6/7 weeks were just as you are describing.

I’m so sorry for your loss Flowers

I had two like that, first time I had even confirmed the pregnancy but when it happened the second time my gp confirmed that's what early miscarriages tend to look like, a late heavy period basically. He also reassured me that it's really common and generally due to the egg not dividing properly and has no bearing on future pregnancies

Thank you both so much - it's really reassuring to hear this and has made me feel much better about it all. Did either of you get a scan to confirm it had all passed?

It’s very unlikely that you would get an nhs scan at this point. I have had several early miscarriages.

I phoned EPU just for some advice today and they suggested I come in for a scan on Friday to check everything is progressing in the right way miscarriage wise. They were very kind - which I'm grateful for!

Currently going through a miscarriage I have no pain at all whatsoever. No cramps never had heavy bleeding and I passed something yesterday but I am unsure what it is. I am still having light bleeding. I took a pregnancy test this afternoon and it's still a strong positive.

Same as you all, I have just had a MC which started when I was 5+5. I had a few period pain type cramps in the morning of the day it started (this Sunday), but otherwise it's been painless, just like my standard periods. Tests will stay positive for a little while yet. Last time I had a MC, my bloods were 43 when I went into EPU (5 days after it started) and it took 3 weeks to finally get a negative on a One Step. I expect this one will be similar, as my HCG was 60 today.

I'm really sorry you're going through this. It's shit, unfair and so hard.
