HCG not doubling

Hi history of recurrent miscarriages. I had hcg done at 5 weeks and 2 days and it came back at 4625. Due to weekend I was not able to get a 48 hours repeat but a 94 hour repeat at 5 weeks 6 days. This has come back at 13 711 I was hoping for it to have doubled twice to around 18 500. I’m really struggling with worry and can’t help think this is bad news. I know hcg can take longer to double as you get towards 6 weeks.

I'm so sorry for your losses. This looks like a completely normal doubling rate.

HCG follows a very rough reverse exponential curve - at the very begining, it will double much faster than 48 hours (e.g. it would usually take much less than 48 hours to go from 2 to 4) and the doubling rate progressively slows. It's not that it gets slower as you get to 6 weeks, it gets slower as it gets higher. It is completely normal to take much longer than 48 hours to double once you get into the thousands
