Missed Miscarriage - Supporting Husband

Hi all,

It looks like I’ve had a mmc at about six weeks as I should be about 8.5/9. I’m devastated but this pregnancy has felt “wrong” from the outset. So, as soon as I started bleeding yesterday I came to terms.

My husband is heartbroken and in denial. I have to have a confirmation scan on the nhs tomorrow and he’s hoping that it will show a heart beat.

Are there any resources I can share with him? Anyone have any tips for this conversation? I think he’s crushed because it took us so long to get pregnant with our first child and this happened straight away, so he was hopeful.

I don’t really have any resources or links but I just want to say that I’m so sorry for your MMC. I do really feel for men in this situation as a lot of the time, the main focus is on the woman. I know my husband was given a leaflet at the hospital when we had our MMC specifically for men and their feelings post miscarriage so hopefully your partner will get one too. Take care of yourself during this absolutely awful time ❤️
