Possible MMC

Started bleeding on Saturday and was referred for a scan today at 8+6. Bleeding has continued, got heavier and follows cramps. Took a pregnancy test yesterday and got a strong positive. Baby measuring 5+3 at scan today . Back in 2 weeks to check progression. Is this a MMC? No one at the scan (3 staff in the room) would say anything other than I need to go back in two weeks. It's given DH the message that the baby is fine but I just think it's gone

Oh I'm so sorry. Three weeks is a big difference in dates, especially pre seeing a decent heartbeat. I think this is going to be a MMC, but I really hope I'm wrong x

I’m really sorry almost this exact thing happened to me recently and it wasn’t good news. My DH was also hopeful and it was a horrid week knowing it was all over but my DH still having hope.

I hope it’s better news for you, but understand it’s really horrid.

God this is so hard. I am resigned to having had a MMC but DH is insisting the nurses and sonographer didn't indicate that and is asking me to hold on to hope. I can't do that but can I have some help understanding dates?

I've tracked my periods for years and they are a bit scattered so my cycle falls between 26-33 days. I don't track ovulation so don't actually know for sure when I ovulated but likely to be between 6-8th Jan.

V v faint positive on 19th Jan, which has got stronger and stronger over the weeks. I tested 2 days ago and it was still a strong positive, dye stealer.

With all this in mind, is MMC the most likely or is there a reason to stay hopeful?

For a MMC your tests are usually still very strong as your body hasn’t recognised the loss yet. In fact the hospital have told me it will take 3 weeks after my surgery to stop having a positive test.

A positive test on 19th Jan would mean you are 9 weeks and a viable pregnancy would have a strong HB.

I got a positive test on the 19th Jan too and am booked for surgical management on Friday. I only started bleeding this week and my baby measures about 6 weeks with no HB.

I am really sorry.

I've had miscarriage confirmed tonight as I was passing very large clots. Grateful it's been a slow dawning as it wasn't a shock to have it said for the first time in a clinical seeing and I was prepared for it.
