Think I’m miscarrying

Hi,
Am 6weeks pregnant through IVF (double embryo transfer) and for the last week have been bleeding fresh blood. More noticeable when I’m up and moving. However the last couple of days have passed clots. I really want to hold on to hope that it still could be ok, but pretty sure it’s not. Anyone has anything similar and it was ok?

Hi @Isittime1984 I recently had a D&C following a missed miscarriage. I did pass some tissue myself before the procedure and it looked like your picture. Have you had any cramping or been in touch with your clinic?

I’ve got a scan booked for tomorrow to determine what is happening. We had a double transfer, so my only hope is one has still stuck. Have only had slight cramps

Fingers crossed for a sticky bean 🤞🏻it may not be the worst outcome so stay positive! Please do come back and update the thread.

Thank you, I will.
How long did you bleed for? It’s been 8 days now and I’m really fed up. Did you have bad cramps or any other signs?

So sorry you are going through this OP. Have you had any previous losses? Sorry if TMI, but if you soak the clot in saline or salty water, a clot will eventually dissolve, whereas products will not.

I've lost 3 and also had IVF with double transfers. I collected the products into a sterile pot from the pharmacy and asked the EPU to test it. Keep in the fridge if not going until tomorrow. With my 2nd loss, they wouldn't do genetic testing but with my 3rd they did. With the 2nd, they at least confirmed that there had been a foetus and sac there and it wasn't from a molar pregnancy. They can't always get a result, but in my case, they did with the 3rd one which showed a genetic issue as the cause for the loss.

Wishing you all the best and I do hope things work out.

So I went in for my NIPT at 9+5 but baby was only measuring 7 weeks and no heartbeat. Then had another scan a week later to confirm no further growth/development. That day I passed a clot similar to yours. The next evening I started cramping low down and knew it was coming. I bled for a couple of hours and passed lots of tissue and clots. After that it was just there when I wiped. Went in for my D&C and there was some tissue remaining on the scan so they did the procedure. There wasn't much at all from what I passed myself. Just an intense few hours and that was it.

@JC03745 @SureLook thanks so much for your messages. Unfortunately I just flushed so no way of telling, but if/when it happens again I will follow your advice.
@SureLook thanks for your message that’s helpful.
I’ve read that lots of people got this intense pain passed some clots and then it tailed off, unfortunately mine seems to be no let up and just continuing the same each day

@Isittime1984 it's so hard to know what's going on. It's good that you're having a scan tomorrow so you won't have to keep wondering. Very frustrating when it feels like there's no end in sight.

Isittime1984 · 15/02/2025 12:29

So have had a confirmed MC. I knew it was the case, but it’s different when someone actually says the words to you

Aww @Isittime1984 I'm so sorry. Is this your first loss? Have you got good support around you?

Isittime1984 · 15/02/2025 12:58

Yes 1st one. Yes lots of support, but doesn’t make it easier

I know, but you'll need the support around you. I found great support here on MN. It's so shit. There's no other way to say it than it's just shit and unfair. I'm sorry you're going through this x

@SureLook everyone has been so lovely, and seem very supportive. Thank you
