Possible miscarriage?

Hi all. I'm currently just over 5 weeks, so still very early but for the last 5 days, I've been having really bad cramps and bleeding.

It started out light with mostly brown and has since progressed to bright red and alternating back to brown, like the start of a period but hasn't got any heavier and I don't think I've passed anything but can't be sure. It's mostly just when I wipe/go to the loo.

I have a scan tomorrow morning to see what's going on but I just wondered if anyone had experienced a loss like this?

The pains are unbearable at times and I've had some one sided pain also but mostly cramps and lower back pain.

I'm fairly convinced it won't be a good outcome tomorrow so am prepared for that but when I had a chemical a few years ago, it was nothing like this. I bled heavy straight away and the cramps subsided after the worst of it but this is just constant and doesn't seem to be progressing or stopping.

I tested again yesterday and the test was darker than last week, whereas with my chemical, they just kept fading.

I've had 4 children and never experienced anything like this with any of them.

Overall just feeling pretty rubbish and wiped out :(

I'm sorry I've not experienced a MC in this way but I just wanted to say that I hope things go well tomorrow, send a little handhold and hopefully bump the thread so someone with more experience on this one will hopefully come along ❤️

Wishing you the best of luck with your scan

@Lobster16

Iv had terrible terrible cramps like this with my blighted ovum last year and my tests stayed positive however I had no bleeding. At a scan it showed an empty sac so I'm assuming cramps were my body reabsorbing the pregnancy guess I'll never know.

Let us know how you get on, hope you're ok it's awful what we go through often with no help or advice but we can help each other on here Daffodil

Thank you all for your replies. Unfortunately the scan showed I have miscarried :( It's uncertain whether the pregnancy was in the right place or not because it's still so early, so I've had bloods done and have to go back on Monday first thing for more bloods.

I have to test first thing and if it's negative, then I won't need the bloods but if still positive, I'll have to go back.

I'm sort of hoping that I don't have to go back because with 4 children at home on half term, getting there for first thing in the morning isn't ideal but obviously I will if needed.

Feeling all kinds of emotions right now.

@lobster16 I'm sorry you are going through this. I had a MMC last June and it's hard to explain how you feel at the time ❤️ I hope that you don't have to go back

Thank you all so much for your replies. Struggling a bit today.. I felt ok but then it's just hit me like a ton of bricks 😔

The cramps and bleeding have suddenly ramped up again, so that's not helping. Just feeling incredibly sad 😪

I'm so sorry your feeling bad today. We go through a lot of emotions, I was sad, then angry and then spent a good few weeks feeling like I had been mugged off by the world and how I had already done the 12 weeks before finding out. It's all very normal to feel all sorts of emotions. There's some fantastic pregnancy loss support out there if you feel you need some more ❤️ Tommy's is very good x
