Hi looking for some people to talk to in the same position over the course of 7 weeks I have been in for private scans and epu appointments as my gestational sac had started to break down along with fetal pole etc I should have been 12 weeks however my body wasn’t recognising I had a miscarriage my sac stopped growing eventually at 7 weeks slightly growing but had to allow it to get to 25mm to call it a missed miscarriage I was booked in for a d&c last Friday which they stopped at the last minute due to small amount of growth in sac.

so this week after weeks and weeks of waiting and mental torture I took the medication at home on Friday by Friday night I was passing loads of clots and gestational sac however stopped bleeding on Saturday and Sunday it returned with a vengeance passing a massive looking sac with flesh attached which I still don’t know what this was had a phone consultation with epu this morning and due to going for a scan this week to make sure everything has passed as still having extreme lower back pain dilation every now and then to expel more , can someone tell me how long this lasts , my hormones are everywhere and I just went back to semi normal without this constant reminder of loosing my baby.

Hi @Unreal94 sadly I'm in a similar situation to you. Second pregnancy, went for my NIPT scan at 9+5 but baby only measuring 7 weeks and no heartbeat. Had to wait another week to confirm no further growth/development. I had a D&C last Tuesday so I can't speak on medical management. When is your scan? I hope you have good support around you. I am also a hormonal mess at the moment but I have gotten great support from similar threads on MN x

I’m so sorry for your loss. I had medical management of MMC in summer and the heavy bleeding lasted around 5 days, then period like for a few days. Physically it took me a while to feel normal, I was light headed and out of breath easily but bloods were fine apparently (was initially flooding more than 3 pads in less than an hour so sent to A&E but no treatment needed)
Look after yourself and I would say if you’re concerned about the pain or amount of bleeding push to be seen by someone. For me it was getting the negative test (approx 4 weeks after medication) that allowed me to start moving on but everyone is different.
Unfortunately I’m living the nightmare again at the moment but I opted for surgical management which was slightly better but had its own downsides.. just a squinter left on my tests, can’t wait for it to be done with!

Hi I’m so sorry your going through this again I’m feeling really faint sometimes and have had a migraine since Friday now I would definitely opt for surgical if I had to go through this again , I was supposed to be in for my d&c last Friday but it got cancelled by this point I had been in for 6 scans a week apart I was tired and frustrated at myself so decided to just take the medical management at home instead of waiting for another date , worst mistake I made.

I’m very sorry again for your losses lots of self care and take it easy on yourself give your self plenty of time to recover mentally and physically. Are the hospital giving you any tests etc to see why this is happening to you ? Sending love and strength towards you xxx

@Unreal94 I totally understand why you would make that decision, especially after a long drawn out process. I started taking the vitabiotics gentle iron tablets last time which I’m not sure if they helped or if naturally I just got back to normal but it’s an idea if you’re feeling the effects of blood loss.
Yes the only tiny silver lining is that this is my third loss so I’m finally entitled to investigations into why this might be happening, hoping to have an appointment with the recurrent miscarriage clinic in the next month or so 🤞🏼
Also sending love and healing to you I hope you feel better soon x
