I’m really sorry I should have been 12 weeks it’s been long and drawn out in the epu last 4 weeks I took the medication at home on Friday after my d&c was cancelled last minute the previous Friday it’s been such a emotional rollercoaster can you tell me if you can remember how long it takes for hormones etc to settle down I’m so sorry for your loss x

@Courtneybrown so so sorry. It generally varies from person to person, it took a few weeks for my test to be negative. However I had issues after D&C and my periods didn’t come back for 6 months. But most people will have their period in a few weeks, I am sure you will xxxx

I had one in August 2022, I concieved again in November 2022 with a healthy baby girl. My pregnancy test was positive for quite a long time which was so disheartening

I’m very sorry it’s such a horrible time I’ve had a migraine I can’t shift and cried over the fact my black facecloth had got bleach on it , safe to say I’m minding my hormones at this point I’m hoping my next pregnancy test next Friday will show negative and hoping my cycle returns but I have pcos so not banking on it I hope you are doing ok x

It is disheartening and I’m very sorry and I’m happy you conceived very quickly again that’s our plans but such a disheartening time all round x

I’m so sorry you’ve had such a rough time @Courtneybrown. I had a MMC in October and just had a positive test last week. It took about 6 weeks for my cycle to regulate, but weirdly I think my luteal phase was shorter. After that first cycle everything was normal again.

I tried to track that first cycle but it was a bit of a waste of time - LH tests don’t work if there’s the slightest bit of HCG in your system. If I could go back I’d say to just focus on looking after myself.

If I could have, I would have taken some time off work/not made social plans when I got my first period post MC. I found that a really difficult time. Sending you lots of good luck to feel better soon and conceive soon.

I’m very sorry for your loss that was my worry about when I could track my ovulation again etc , I’m hoping the bleeding stops soon it stops and starts back up again feeling very light headed and migraine since Friday epu phone back today so will find out when I go in for my scan to see if everything has cleared out , I’m glad you have had a positive test and will keep everything crossed for you my heart goes out to you yes I’m going to focus on self care just now and listen to my body not pushing myself please keep us updated sending love at this time ❤️ xxx

Aw hey!! @Courtneybrown sorry for your loss it’s such a difficult thing to go through. I had a MMC in December with an MVA 7th Jan and D&C 31st Jan due to retained products. You’re definitely not alone, feel free to ask any questions. I’ve found a lot of support on these forums. It’s also really helpful if you have a good support network of family/friends to talk to about it all, venting has really helped me. Take good care of yourself and just let all your emotions out xx

Sorry for late reply I got rushed into hospital early hours this morning as was in too much pain and dihydrocodeine didn’t touch it , I had oral morph and dihydrocodeine in hospital scan just now has revealed retained tissue so now waiting on next moves from the dr I can’t eat or drink vomitinv for days migraine since Friday , I’m in so much pain never felt anything like it crying hugging a sick bowl on the bathroom floor I’m so sorry you had to go through this also I just cried on my ultrasound tech who thankfully has done my previous scans I don’t have family I can talk too so just my partner at home with the children so she was the next best person just been given more pain relief and antibiotics so hoping that helps the pain ❤️ , thank you for reaching out and I’m sorry about your loss xxx

Sorry to hear that you’re still suffering! How fustrating about retained tissue. I think it’s so difficult when you have other children at home to worry about too xx

I'm so sorry for your loss OP & that you are unwell.
I found out today that I am having my second mmc, also cried on my ultrasound tech (same one as last time too), so you aren't alone.

I just found this thread....in a very similar situation... MMC so has surgical procedure (ERPC) a week ago (Thurs)... I was (physically) fine for the first few days after then suddenly have had the most awful cramps and pain the last 4 days. I went in to get scanned yesterday, nothing showed up so now waiting on results of bloods. I'm doubled over in pain again this morning. I do have Endometriosis so wondering if it's an Endo flare due to messed up hormones?? Similar to you @Courtneybrown I'm throwing up with the pain.. this is horrendous

Hi I’m so sorry your going through this too I can show you my discharge letter mines literally says this I have endo and pcos and mine says RCOS and blood clot in my womb plus endometriosis flare I don’t take medication but I have been on dihydrocodeine and oral morphine from hospital as nothing was touching the pain and I was screaming doubled over I have a high pain threshold so I know how painful this must be for you I’m now on two anti biotics and dihydrocodeine without any gaps to not allow the pain to creep through hopefully until this stops , please go and ask for stronger painkillers don’t suffer like I did over my pride of I can handle pain I learnt the hard way this endometriosis flare up has been the worst it ever was, I am so sorry you are going through this also it just adds to a already traumatic time and more emotionally draining, I’m here to talk if you need to talk ❤️ I hope they get to the bottom of it for you but I would push for anti biotics and extra pain relief and I am so sorry for your loss xx

I’m so sorry for you loss , it’s already devastating and to loose another is mentally exhausting and heartbreaking and Im so sorry you had to cry on your tech too mines was lovely I am here whenever you need to rant etc it’s a hard time and need as much support as we can get with people who understand I’ve had some very horrible comments in which people don’t understand mmc I wish they could just think before they speak it was still our child regardless of stage of pregnancy I hope you are ok and resting xxx

It is very difficult 😞 I’m home now on two lots of anti biotics and dihydrocodeine until the RPCOS passes through which I’m hoping is soon xx

@Courtneybrown thank you for the pep talk.... I think I needed that... The anti-inflamatories just are not hitting this pain at all. I had no idea anything like this could happen after an MC.

Thanks for checking in @Courtneybrown . I am thankfully MUCH better today... Inflammatory markers in the blood tests were crazy high as well as something else (can't remember, medical stuff). I started on antibiotics and strong pain relief on Tuesday and it's definitely hitting it now. I'm so relieved as the next step was to admit me to hospital.
This infection/pain/hormone mess just feels like a right kick in the balls, doesn't it? As if a MMC isn't bad enough 🤷🏻

I’m at home now too out of hospital my markers where the same I have 3 days left of my painkillers and anti biotics but my stomach is so swollen and tight and still cramping bleeding has stopped though but kind of panicking for when the painkillers stop as still cramping badly so will phone dr when needed if I’m still the same I’m glad you got the correct painkillers and anti biotics and it seems to be managing your pain , keep me updated as I expected the flare up to go away pretty quickly after but doesn’t seem to be the case , yes I didn’t expect all this along with the miscarriage but I keep telling myself it will all hopefully be worth it ❤️ sending you love xxx
